The excess skin can cause limitations, both aesthetic and functional. Due to excess skin, walking may irritate the skin between the legs. A thighplasty may offer the solution.

After a thinning process, after a pregnancy, or aging, the skin loses its elasticity. The skin on the upper legs becomes saggy and wrinkled; folds may also appear.

In thighplasty, only the excess skin and subdermal tissue will remove by surgery. With liposuction, we can remove any excess fat. Both interventions take care during the same surgical session.

This article will give you a general understanding of the procedure. You cannot answer all of your questions, as many depend on each person’s situation.

But as with any operation, there are risks and complications associated with the procedure.

As with any surgical procedure, bleeding after the operation can cause edema.

Such problems are mitigated by placing drains that take 2 or 3 days to evacuate the blood. However, there is a small risk of bruising that may require evacuation.

A small number of patients may present with infection. Infection can happen at any time, but it is often in the first week after surgery.

Likewise, there is a risk of wound dehiscence if subjected to excessive traction. So you have to be very careful with your body movements during the first two weeks.

Some women have areas of the skin with reduced sensitivity near the incisions. These symptoms usually go away. But this is not the case in all cases.

In some cases, the incision scars are not as good as expected. Patients with incision scare depend on personal factors and the scar’s location.

Most of the patients who undergo a thighplasty do not suffer from the complications described.
